Dalam Bahasa Inggris ada beberapa kelas kata atau part of speech yang menggolongkan fungsi dan kedudukan setiapa kata dalam kalimat, untuk jumlah dari kelas kata atau part of speech tersebut masih ada perbedaan pendapat dari para peneliti, sebagian mengatakan 8 sedangkan yang lain mengatakan 9. Nah, biar lebih lengkap saya akan ambil yang 9 part of speech atau kelas kata. Berikut ini bagian-bagian dari part of speech

1. Noun (Kata Benda)
Noun is a name of thing, person, place or idea (dalam bahasa Indonesia kita sebut kata benda)
2. Verb (Kata Kerja)
Verb is a word to express an action or activity
example : eat, sleep, run, etc.
3. Pronoun (Kata Ganti)
Pronoun is a word that used for substitute a noun. Pronoun is devided into 5 categories, those are:
- Personal Pronoun, a pronoun to substitute a name of person.
example: I, You, They, She, He, We, It, etc.
- Relative Pronoun.
example: who, whose, which, that, whoever, whomever, whichever.
- Integrative Pronoun.
example: who, whom, whose, which, what
- Indefinite Pronoun.
example: all, anything, everything, both, each, etc.
- Demonstrative Pronoun.
example: this, these, that, those.
4. Adjective (Kata Sifat)
Adjective is a word to describe a noun.
example: Beautiful, handsome, good, bad, big, small, etc.
5. Adverb (Kata Keterangan)
Adverb is a word to describe a verb or adjective.
example: quickly, loudly, very, slowly, etc.
6. Preposition
Preposition is usually used to show the relationship between a noun with another sentence.
example: Jhonny write a letter in his bedroom.
7. Article
Article is a word to show a noun.
example: a, an, the.
8. Conjunction (Kata Hubung)
Conjunction is a word to connect words or phrases.
example: and, but, also, etc.
9. Interjection (Kata Seru)
Interjection is a word to show a feeling or emotion.
example: ouch!, oh!, waw!... etc.
